RUGBY IS THE LENS. CULTURE IS THE STORY.

BORN FROM THE GAME

That’s right. This magazine is shaped by a lifetime around rugby and rugby league, and the places the game takes you. From local grounds to international cities, rugby has always been more than what happens on the field. It’s culture, routine, community, and identity.

My biggest focus is exploring how rugby connects to everyday life around the world. The food people eat, where they gather after the match, the streets near the ground, and the stories that never make the highlight reel. Each week, Off The Plane shares new destinations, clubs, people, and perspectives through that lens.

The goal is simple: to showcase rugby culturally, across Australia and globally, in a way that feels real, grounded, and worth your time. If something resonates, sparks curiosity, or sends you somewhere new, then it’s doing its job.

"Rugby is the thread, but what interests me is everything around it. The places, the people, how locals eat, drink, and live.”
